DP World enhances logistics capacity, along with the Government of the Dominican Republic, with an investment of another US$100 million to enhance logistics and warehousing facilities at the DP World Free Trade Zone – FTZ in Caucedo.
The investment, which was announced at the 12th World Free Zones Congress 2026, raises the total committed to US$760 million and further strengthens the country’s position as a manufacturing and logistics hub for the Americas.
DP World signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Dominican Republic in May 2025 for the expansion of the Port of Caucedo and its Free Trade Zone, valued at US$760 million.
As DP World enhances logistics capacity with this latest investment with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, it will help support the development of new warehouse infrastructure and increase overall logistics capacity, further integrating port, free zone and logistics services at Caucedo to meet growing regional demand.
Independent research by Oxford Economics has shown that DP World is making a significant contribution to economic growth, employment and trade connectivity throughout the Dominican Republic. Researchers in the UK said DP World supported nearly 5,000 jobs across the country and could boost goods exports to $2.4 billion by 2035. In 2024, the port handled trade worth US$13.3 billion.
The COO of DP World in the Americas, Morten Johansen, remarked that “The Dominican Republic is increasingly central to regional trade in the Americas. This additional US$100 million investment builds on our previously announced commitment, helping position Caucedo as a fully integrated logistics platform capable of supporting long-term trade and industrial growth.”
CEO of DP World in the Dominican Republic, Manuel Martínez, said that, “By expanding logistics and warehousing infrastructure in the Caucedo Free Trade Zone, we are enabling customers to scale more efficiently while strengthening the Dominican Republic’s competitiveness as a regional trade hub.”
