In recent news, Kuehne+Nagel has gone ahead and invested in a new Cambodia Container Freight Station, located in Phnom Penh. Expected to be finished by June 2027, this plant is all set to offer over 20,000 sqm of warehouse space, thereby helping clients manage the rising trade figures and also help transit goods more effectively in Cambodia as well as throughout the region.
It is worth noting that Cambodia goes on to strengthen its trade infrastructure. The step is apparently visible with Phnom Penh Autonomous Port taking care of 600,000 TEUs and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port almost 1.3 million TEUs in 2025. Giving impetus to this growth is the new Cambodia Container Freight Station, which is strategically positioned nearby key transport gateways, which include the likes of both ports and Phnom Penh International Airport as well as cross-border road links to Thailand and also Vietnam, thereby helping cargo movements throughout the country and also supporting regional logistics.
According to the Managing Director of Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar, Kuehne+Nagel, David Roussiere, “This investment will more than triple our CFS capacity in Cambodia and strengthen our logistics capabilities in the country. With direct access to key transportation gateways and regional trade corridors, the facility will support customers in the consumer good industry as they navigate evolving supply chains and growing trade opportunities across the region.”
Made for cargo consolidation, and also along with taking care of operations, the new CFS is going to boast of a raised-floor warehouse, which comes with loading doors as well as dock levellers. It will provide a floor loading capacity of almost 5 tonnes per square metre and is most likely going to be certified as per ISO 9001, ISO 45001 as well as ISO 14001 standards.
The facility is also going to incorporate sustainability features such as skylight roofing, solar panels, LED lighting, water infiltration systems, forklifts that are battery operated, and also a rainwater management system.
Interestingly, the investment showcased the continued emphasis of Kuehne+Nagel in terms of making its logistics infrastructure throughout high-growth markets more robust and also assisting with the expansion of trade, both regionally as well as globally.
