In a recent move, DHL Supply Chain has been appointed so as to offer aftermarket parts logistics for AION, which is the electrified brand behind the most competitive aftersales promise in the UK. The partnership has been planning for the UK launch of AION for a few months and is now prepared to offer next-day parts distribution across the country in order to get customers’ cars back onto the road with no further delay.
By being aftermarket parts logistics for AION, DHL is going to be responsible for parts storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipment across its UK logistics network, with the first AION V SUVs now getting delivered to customers. The operation begins with over 1,250 genuine AION V part lines in stock and are available for fast delivery all over the country, giving retailers, service providers, and certified workshops quick availability of components when needed.
The exclusive Parts operation is an essential part of the industry-leading Great 8 Promise by AION, providing 8 years of reassuring support throughout the warranty, servicing, and roadside assistance, as well as MOT of the vehicle.
AION expects to have roughly 25 dealer locations by the end of 2026 and plans to expand to around 100 locations by the end of the decade.
It is worth noting that the DHL-managed operation integrates warehousing and inventory management as well as rapid delivery capabilities, providing AION retailers and service partners access to parts in just a matter of 24 hours throughout the UK. The 100% digitized ordering system has been developed to reduce vehicle outages and instill confidence in clients.
Says Aftersales Director at AION Auto UK, Ben Hurford, “We know that a common concern for drivers considering a new brand is whether spare parts are readily available should the worst happen. Even before we sold our first car, we partnered with DHL to establish and stock up a dedicated UK parts warehouse so we can respond immediately when a workshop needs us to ship parts to them. With over 1,250-part lines available from day one, the warehouse facility is a reflection of our long-term investment in AION and its customers, because a brand that earns public trust will grow sustainably. That aftersales commitment also extends to our comprehensive eight-year warranty – part of the industry-leading AION Great 8 Promise – which provides peace of mind beyond our competitors’ offerings, with extensive bumper-to-bumper coverage and transparency around any limitations.”
According to the Managing Director of Manufacturing Logistics, DHL Supply Chain UK & Ireland, Paul Stone, “We’re proud to support AION’s entry into the UK market and to bring our experience working with automotive manufacturers and new market entrants to this partnership. Fast, reliable access to parts is one of the most important factors in delivering a strong customer experience. By combining our warehousing expertise with rapid nationwide distribution, we’re helping AION build trust with retailers and customers from the very start.”
Notably, AION was established in 2017 as an upper-mainstream electrified brand owned by GAC Group, which is one of the largest and oldest automakers in China. AION Auto UK is a JV between GAC and Jameel Motors, which apparently is a leading mobility solutions provider as well as a preferred partner of choice when it comes to premium automotive brands.
