Digital logistics platform Demetra Holding’s Smartseeds and JSC GLONASS, which runs the ERA-GLONASS state information system, have inked an agreement to collaborate in information technologies to create logistics solutions and joint navigations.
In a joint press release, the companies said that they agreed to work together in order to create information technologies and navigation as well as create logistics solutions for the Russian cargo transportation market. They would do this via developing joint technological solutions and using ERA-GLONASS as a platform so as to promote their services.
The parties agreed to work together to create a unified way of offering services to users, carry out technological projects in order to make transportation safer and more efficient, even when it comes to the agricultural sector, and take part in efforts in order to promote and make modern IT solutions more popular in the gamut of transportation and logistics.
In the press release, they said that Smartseeds had set up a system for tracking for transport based on ERA-GLONASS in 2025. This has made shipments more open while making it easier to keep an eye on cargo. It has also helped transportation companies find routes and keep an eye on fuel levels.
According to a press release, Smartseeds CEO Anton Kondratov said that the market was not only driven by demand for certain products, but also by the creation of a complete digital landscape. It is precisely the synergy of technological platforms which can give the industry that powerful impetus that it needs to develop here and now, he added.
JSC GLONASS’s sales director, Vitaly Derkach, is quoted as saying that the goal of the companies’ partnership is to combine navigation and logistics solutions, such as the Smartseeds digital platform for agriculture and the ERA-GLONASS state information system. We expect the joint work and the combining of expertise will form the basis of a pilot project for the digitalization and development of innovations in agriculture.
