Nippon Express Holdings – NX Group has bought all of the outstanding shares in Metro Supply Chain Group Inc., which is a logistics company operating in Canada with regular business activities throughout North America as well as the United Kingdom. The deal is expected to close October 1, 2026, and will strengthen the contract logistics capabilities of NX Group and add to its standing in the North American market.

The companies celebrated the closing of the agreement with an employee town hall meeting and closing ceremony in Montreal, Canada, on October 7, 2026. The event was attended by Chiko Nanji, Metro Supply Chain Group founder and Group Chairman, as well as representatives from both companies, along with NX Group President and CEO Satoshi Horikiri.

Leadership throughout the event laid out NX Group’s strategic plan for the combined business and highlighted opportunities to drive long-term expansion in North America and international markets.

Metro Supply Chain Group which is a logistics company operating in Canada is based in Montreal, with customers spanning across the United States and the United Kingdom as well.

The company offers logistics and supply chain services to various industries such as retail and consumer goods, automotive and manufacturing, health and wellness, technology and services, and the public sector.

It provides order fulfilment, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution, as well as supply chain operations designed specifically to serve companies with complex logistics needs.

The deal extends NX Group’s contract logistics presence in North America and strengthens its ability to offer integrated distribution and end-to-end supply chain solutions.

The company will combine Metro Supply Chain Group’s established regional operations with NX Group’s international transportation network to offer a wider range of logistics services to existing and potential customers.

NX Group also intends to develop Metro Supply Chain Group into a core platform for its global contract logistics business.

The strategy will use Metro Supply Chain Group’s fulfilment capabilities, warehouse automation technologies and operational knowledge to boost logistics processes across all other NX Group businesses.

Metro Supply Chain Group’s expertise in order processing, inventory management and shipping operations is anticipated to help develop more efficient fulfilment models across NX Group’s international system.

The company intends to deploy these capabilities to support its operations in Europe and Asia and to leverage Metro Supply Chain Group’s expertise to enhance existing logistic services across the organisation.

Another key element of the integration strategy is warehouse automation. NX Group plans to use Metro Supply Chain Group’s technologies and operating methods to enhance the efficiency, productivity and service capabilities of its contract logistics operations.

The acquisition also offers opportunities to expand relationships with customers of both companies via cross-selling initiatives.

NX Group plans to launch its international transportation, goods forwarding and customs broking services for the existing customers of Metro Supply Chain Group.

The combined company also plans to use its contract logistics relationships to find more transportation and supply chain services opportunities, it said.

The aim is to further improve customer relationships by offering a wider range of logistics services for business, including warehousing, fulfilment, international shipping and customs handling.  Joining NX Group will provide Metro Supply Chain Group with a larger global network and more resources to help support business growth.

The combination is expected to allow Metro Supply Chain Group to grow its services to international customers while maintaining its existing presence in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The transaction is a strategic expansion of NX Group’s North American business and supports its efforts to further establish itself as a global provider of integrated logistics services.

The company intends to realise operational synergies through the combination of the regional expertise of Metro Supply Chain Group and the international infrastructure, customer relationships and transportation capabilities of NX Group.

The acquisition further highlights the increasing significance of integrated supply chain services as companies look for logistics partners that can manage inventory, fulfilment, distribution and global transportation via coordinated networks.

NX Group and Metro Supply Chain Group intend to continue integrating their operations and look for opportunities to enhance customer service, increase their logistics standards, and foster steady expansion across international markets.
