President of Nippon Express (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. – NX Singapore Ryuichi Murakami and a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., with President Satoshi Horikiri went on to hold a ceremony on Friday, November 21, in order to mark the completed expansion of Tuas Global Logistics Centre that’s based in the Tuas area on the western coast of Singapore.

Singapore is at present pursuing the Tuas Mega Port Project, which is aimed at consolidating the present port operations and developing a next-gen port having world-class container handling capacity by 2040.  With the expansion of Tuas Global Logistics Centre, it becomes conveniently located nearby the new Tuas Port and provides extraordinary access to expressways. It is also located near the border that stretches along with Johor, the southern Malaysian state where development has advanced due to the Johor-Singapore Economic Special Zone – JS-SEZ which is newly established between Singapore and Malaysia. This goes on to place the Centre squarely right at the forefront of transformation, and NX Singapore has also expanded its warehouse area by almost 9,200m2 in order to meet the desired demand growth.

The expansion goes on to feature a flexible layout that is able to cope with the fluctuations in demand and offers temperature-controlled spaces that are apt for the medical-healthcare and precision equipment as well as consumer goods and other industries. As one of the green logistics initiatives from NX Singapore, solar panels have been installed on the present building in order to decrease the environmental impact of the facility.

Almost 100 attendees were there at the completion ceremony, which included the likes of Hiroshi Ishikawa, the Japanese Ambassador to Singapore; Singapore Economic Development Board – EDB Chairman Png Cheong Boon as well as other distinguished guests, along with Mitsuru Saito, NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS Chairman; South Asia & Oceania Regional General Manager Katsuhito Kobayashi along with certain other relevant executives; and also stakeholders from the NX Group.

The NX Group goes on to remain committed toward building high-quality, global logistics platforms in order to support its businesses of the customers from a logistics viewpoint.
