A US Global Supply Chain Firm has launched a new site in Co Antrim in a $1m or £0.74m investment.
Supply Technologies, – the US Global Supply Chain Firm and also a division of US giant ParkOhio, reported that the new Doagh base had trebled its capacity and increased the extent of its Northern Ireland operation.
It replaces the old Antrim operations of the company on Kilbegs Road and constitutes a portion of a total investment of $50m.
It is well to be noted that the new space incorporates its warehousing and offices under one roof, with the introduction of new facilities including a kitting workshop and laboratory as well as an innovation center.
Supply Technologies sources, oversees, and provides components for manufacturing across a range of sectors, including semiconductors and data centers, transport, and industrial machinery.
This expansion corresponds to significant growth in its Northern Ireland business and increased demand coming from manufacturers.
Senior executives from Supply Technologies as well as ParkOhio, the parent company, attended the formal opening. The likes of Matthew Crawford, the CEO, and its president, Brian Norris, were a part of the ceremony. The guest of honor was Edward F. Crawford, the former US ambassador to Ireland.
The firm said the Doagh site, which is located close to the M2 motorway, was a hub for customer services across Northern Ireland.
The company has 20 employees, and the move also provides extra space for possible expansion and more jobs, it noted.
According to the managing director of Europe & Asia at Supply Technologies, James Smetham, “Our business in Northern Ireland has grown significantly, and this investment reflects both that growth and our confidence in the opportunities ahead. Moving from four separate units into one larger facility gives us the space and infrastructure to operate more efficiently, strengthen our technical capabilities, and continue developing the services we provide to customers.
Apparently, the new facilities in the branch bolstered the ability of the firm to handle challenging component specifications and offer manufacturers greater influence in quality control, availability, and also supply chain efficiency, the company said.
As per Supply Technologies, the investment follows substantial global expansion and a high monthly achievement internationally.
The president of Supply Technologies, Brian Norris, opines, “Manufacturers are increasingly looking to mitigate any supply chain disruptions, and our customers expect us to have product locally to ensure uptime in their operations. Alongside our technical expertise, reliable sourcing, and inventory management, this facility allows us more space to house more product for our customers, which helps them reduce lead times.”
Notably, Supply Technologies offers supply chain management options for fasteners as well as assembly components, stating that it integrates international procurement, engineering standards, and quality skills with inventory management and shipping to the location where the products will be utilized.
Edward F. Crawford, who is the former US Ambassador to Ireland and also a long-time figure when it comes to international industrial business, said, “Investment in facilities such as this reflects the confidence businesses have in the people, skills, and manufacturing capabilities that support their customers. It is particularly pleasing to see Supply Technologies building on its established presence in Northern Ireland, retaining its experienced workforce and creating the capacity to support further growth. I congratulate everyone involved in bringing this new facility into operation.”
