The FAST Logistics Group, along with the Department of Trade and Industry – DTI Misamis Oriental, has gone ahead and renewed their commitment to help MSMEs have improved logistics and supply chain support.
The agreement was signed by Manuel L. Onrejas Jr, FAST CEO for Logistics, and Jesusa M. Abear, DTI Misamis Oriental Provincial Director, on May 23 at IFEX Philippines 2026 held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.
Why it is significant
By offering logistics and supply chain support through the partnership, the purpose is to lower logistics costs incurred by the MSMEs in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental, speed up completion, and expand participation in national trade fairs as well as exhibitions.
FAST will offer transport, warehousing, temporary storage, on-site delivery as well as reverse logistics support to the MSMEs participating in trade events across the country as per the agreement. The company will also provide exclusive logistics rates for trade activities supported by DTI.
According to Abear, “At DTI Misamis Oriental, strengthening collaboration with the private sector is one of our key strategies to create more growth opportunities for businesses in Cagayan de Oro and across the province.”
The larger context
Critical to the partnership is the implementation of a forward stocking solution that will enable MSMEs to pre-position their products in FAST warehouses based across Luzon, Visayas as well as Mindanao.
The strategy aims to decrease delivery lead times, enhance inventory preparedness and boost the resilience of supply chains in situations of typhoon and other types of calamities. The initiative will help institutional buyers, distributors and retailers who need faster fulfilment, FAST stated.
Interestingly, FAST keeps growing its presence in Northern Mindanao due to the strategic role in trade and distribution of the region, Onrejas said.
He added that “Recognizing the province’s contribution to the regional economy, we continue to strengthen our presence and logistics capabilities in the area to serve businesses of all sizes, including MSMEs, in Cagayan de Oro and nearby provinces.”
FAST at present has four hubs in Misamis Oriental and is rolling out its mosquito fleet of small trucks to supplement last-mile delivery services all across Mindanao.
