In a recent development, Scan Global Logistics is adding Hapag-Lloyd’s Ship Green solution to its emissions-reduction product line for ocean freight customers.

The partnership’s physical Book-and-Claim model, which is based on mass balance, allows customers to make claims for verified emission reductions.

The solution focuses on Scope 3 emissions and gives global supply chain leaders a tangible way to act as low-carbon shipping fuels as well as infrastructure are being developed.

Partnership Highlights Ocean Freight Emissions

Hapag-Lloyd and Scan Global Logistics are growing their decarbonisation partnership amid growing pressure from global shippers to slash Scope 3 emissions throughout complex supply chains.

As part of the deepened collaboration, Scan Global Logistics will add Hapag-Lloyd’s Ship Green solution to its current portfolio of emissions-reducing freight products. The move provides SGL customers a more direct way of reducing emissions related to ocean transport without having to redesign logistics networks or change shipment flow patterns.

That means something to corporate sustainability teams. Decarbonising ocean freight remains one of the challenging areas, as shipping is heavily reliant on fuel availability, vessel infrastructure as well as global port systems. Low-carbon fuels are coming on stream, but the supply remains limited. Freight buyers are seeking solutions that can be delivered now and evaluated with reliability in that gap.

According to managing director of global sales at Hapag-Lloyd, Danny Smoulders, “Together with Scan Global Logistics, we are driving forward practical solutions to reduce emissions in ocean freight. Ship Green enables customers to act today and take meaningful steps towards their sustainability targets.”

Book-And-Claim Offers Customer Adaptability

The partnership applies a physical Book-and-Claim approach according to the mass balance principle. Under the model, Hapag-Lloyd mixes biofuel within the shipping fuel mix. Ocean freight customers are able to claim verified emission reductions even if the lower-emission fuel is not being utilised on their particular vessel or shipment.

That infrastructure is built for global supply chains, in which cargo shifts through multiple carriers and routes as well as ports. It enables companies to support biofuel use within the shipping system, whilst at the same time tying those reductions back to their own reporting on emissions related to goods.

For ocean freight customers, the method offers greater flexibility compared to route-specific solutions. It also helps to prevent the delays triggered by the patchy deployment of low-carbon shipping infrastructure throughout regions.

For SGL, the integration adds to the tools available to customers looking for quantifiable reductions in emissions from ocean shipping. The solution enables companies to act in real time across their global supply chains in an open and adaptable manner, the company said.

According to Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at Scan Global Logistics, Martin Andersen, “Ocean biofuel is a powerful solution for customers as it reduces emissions without changing anything in the supply chain in an affordable way.”

Pressure Mounts on Scope 3

As companies are undergoing greater scrutiny on indirect emissions, the commercial case is becoming clearer. Freight and logistics are part of Scope 3 inventories in many multinationals, where quality of data and cost reduction pathways are still challenging.

Investors and regulators, as well as corporate buyers, are demanding additional evidence that climate targets are not just about direct operations. That’s driving procurement and supply chain teams to take into account how freight choices impact corporate decarbonisation plans.

Solutions like Ship Green do not negate the need for a large-scale transition of fuels within the shipping industry. But they can assist companies to begin cutting reported transport emissions whilst the sector continues to build up its capacity for cleaner fuels.

The deal is a pragmatic change in logistics procurement for executives. Freight evaluation is not only cost, swiftness and dependability anymore. Emissions performance increasingly is being reflected in contract design and supplier selection as well as customer reporting.

Shipping’s Shift Needs Scalable Tools

The shipping industry in general is still in a challenging transition stage. Carriers make investments in substitute fuels, efficiency measures, and cleaner vessel technology, but the timeline is inconsistent. Fuel availability differs a lot by region, and infrastructure development depends upon policy support, allocation of capital, and demand from cargo owners.

Hence, there is a need for action on the demand side. By making it easier for ocean freight customers to purchase lower-emission transport, big goods forwarders as well as carriers assist in creating a marketplace for cleaner fuels. They also provide companies a clearer way to match logistics spending with commitments to the environment.

For Scan Global Logistics, Hapag- The expanded partnership with Lloyd provides a commercial route to decarbonise ocean shipping. It is a chance for ocean freight customers to do something prior to the full shipping transition being finished.

The worldwide relevance is obvious. Supply chains span borders and regulations as well as carbon accounting systems. As climate disclosure standards become more stringent and customers call for lower-carbon logistics, companies that can minimize freight emissions through transparent, validated mechanisms are going to be better positioned.
The post Expanding Decarbonization Ties for Ocean Freight Customers appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority has gone ahead and unveiled an integrated logistics corridor built in cooperation with Oman Customs within the framework of an advanced logistics system to enhance the connectivity of the Emirate of Sharjah with the Omani ports through land borders.

The integrated logistics corridor is meant to improve the effectiveness and long-term viability of regional supply chains, to improve the flow of trade, and to broaden the logistics alternatives which are available to the business community.

The corridor encompasses a number of Omani ports, headed by Sohar Port, given its strategic location near the UAE, as well as Duqm Port and Salalah Port. They are incorporated in a flexible network of logistic routes that guarantee constant trade flows and adapt to changing market demands.

Seamlessly integrated in the logistics ecosystem of Sharjah

The corridor is within the integrated logistics ecosystem based on the complementary nature of its maritime infrastructure along its eastern as well as western coasts.

Khorfakkan Port happens to be an important part of this system as a major regional maritime hub and a key point of entry to enhance the effectiveness of cargo handling and container operations.

The new corridor combines the incorporation of maritime and land transport, offering a seamless logistics expansion that broadens market access and boosts operational effectiveness. It is not a substitute for existing maritime routes but adds versatility to the system and expands logistics alternatives.

Active operations at the land border crossings

The corridor is activated via the land border crossings of Sharjah, mainly Khatmat Malaha Border Crossing in Kalba as well as Al Madam Border Crossing, which optimises the efficiency of logistics connectivity between ports and commercial centers within the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman, whilst making sure the smooth movement of cargo between the two sides.

First shipments begin operations

After fulfilling all the technical and coordination requirements imposed by the relevant entities, the corridor’s live operations formally commenced on 14 May 2026.

The first shipments have already been shipped from Port Khalid to Sohar Port through Khatmat Malaha, an achievement that reconfirms readiness for operation, shows the success of the integration between sea and land routes and opens up wider opportunities for seamless trade flows between both sides.

Cargo movement in both directions has also started, which further enhances the integration of logistics between Sharjah and Oman.

Operational benefits and simplified processes

By means of coordination between Sharjah Customs and Omani Customs, the corridor provides users with a complete set of standard and customs support measures that ensure a seamless and integrated experience for users throughout all stages of transit.

One of the main advantages is that the customs clearance procedures can be completed right at the border crossings in Sharjah, specifically at Khatmat Malaha and Al Madam, eliminating the necessity for further transfer steps. This leads to a significant reduction of processing time, faster release of cargo, lower costs for land transport, along with an improved overall cargo flow.

The corridor is backed by a high-tech system of fast-track shipment lane configuration, preliminary processing of data and direct shipping under customs supervision. Also, it depends on the real-time exchange of data and mutual coordination, which facilitates faster deployment, increased reliability and good operational effectiveness.

Geographic proximity as a competitive advantage

The corridor happens to be a flexible logistics route strengthened by the close geographical distance between entry points in Sharjah as well as Omani ports, especially Sohar. This minimises transit times, optimises operational efficiency and enhances supply chain robustness under different scenarios.

Support for industry and access to markets

The corridor provides import, export, and re-export procedures and allows local manufacturers, trading companies, and free zone businesses to reach local and global markets with adaptable logistics solutions. This drives the company’s competitiveness and enhances performance in operations.

It also helps in the movement of goods coming via Sohar and other Omani ports into the UAE’s local markets through the land crossings in Sharjah, helping diversify supply chains, encouraging robustness and providing improved business opportunities.

Global standards for operational integration

A joint working team has been set up by the two sides so as to coordinate operations and establish data exchange standards. This supports the efficiency of the customs and provides a high level of flow along with reliability, in accordance with international best practices within protection, risk and security.

The opening of the corridor reinforces the close economic ties between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman and emphasises the increasing degree of strategic integration between the two sides, allowing them to progressively develop an integrated logistics system that ensures trade moves smoothly and efficiently, stated the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.

The Authority said the corridor is a significant advancement towards enhancing Sharjah’s position as a prominent regional logistics hub, offering flexible alternatives that expedite trade flows and help businesses adjust to evolving operational conditions.

Future perspective

It is well to be noted that the integrated logistics corridor is expected to have a strategic role in the development of a comprehensive transportation system centred around the complementarity of various modes of transport. Future plans include the expansion of the corridor to serve air freight offerings, improving flexibility in the supply chain and sustainability, and fostering regional economic growth along with reinforcing the position of Sharjah as a prominent logistics hub within the region.
The post Sharjah Customs and Oman Start Integrated Logistics Corridor appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

In the latest news, terminals at Persian Gulf ports reopen the gates to outbound freight flows, although slowly, market sources claim. The ports Khor Fakkan as well as Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates – UAE, along with Sohar in Oman had been barred to import discharges for container carriers since the conflict in the Middle East started due to extreme yard space and cargo safety constraints.

The ports have been the lifeline of the supply chain for shipments to the Middle East since the Middle East war broke out Feb. 28, 2026. Emergency port operations effectively meant a single-leg cargo opportunity for vessel operators, as they were not permitted to pick up boxes on the backhaul route so as to avoid longer berth stays.

Now, a few mainliners, most notably CMA CGM, along with other large feeder operators, usually supported by non-vessel-operating common carriers NVOs are moving containers of Middle East origin into India, therefore helping ease of middle east-India supply chains, several Dubai-based freight forwarder executives who conversed with the Journal of Commerce verified

Export gate-ins have resumed but in a rough manner and owing to the space situation, said one of the sources who did not want to be named.

CMA CGM offers weekly regular sailings between three western Indian ports Hazira, Mundra as well as Nhava Sheva and Fujairah and Sohar under its BIGEX network. The French carrier also apparently emptied most Middle East-bound containers that were redirected to Nhava Sheva, which included accumulated hazardous/dangerous cargo boxes which had raised safety concerns for the port authority.

Traditionally, Middle East ports have been a major player for transporters in repositioning empty containers to high-demand locations, including India. This renewed operational flexibility has allowed CMA CGM to move acquired empties through Fujairah into Nhava Sheva to restock its tightening inventory capacities in India.

It is indeed big relief to see ease of middle east-India supply chains as the regional disruption put a strain on the inventory cycle of the carrier, but weaker demand for exports from India kept any kind of industrywide equipment shortages at bay, local sources said.

CMA CGM, AD Ports Sign Logistics Pact

Meanwhile, CMA CGM signed a deal along with AD Ports Group in order to collaborate on intermodal logistics solutions in the UAE as well as the wider region. The move comes as desire for multimodal/land bridge alternatives persists to increase in the region.

The collaboration will look for possibilities so as to boost cargo flows across the UAE and regional markets such as the northern Emirates, while boosting trade corridor optionality by means of rail-linked inland connectivity across the borders of Oman and Saudi Arabia, the partners went on to say in a joint statement.

CMA CGM already has a terminal joint venture along with AD Ports at Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi via its subsidiary CMA Terminals.
The post Middle East-India Supply Chains Ease as Shipments Restart appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

Transnet SOC Limited – Transnet and France, via the Agence française de développement – AFD, have agreed on a EUR 300M – approximately ZAR5,8bn loan agreement in order to support contribution by Transnet to a stronger and productive South African economy in the midst of climate change.

The strategic position of Transnet in freight and energy related logistics and its stated objective to lower the carbon intensity of its operations happens to qualify it as an enabler in South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Investment Plan – JET IP.

The loan will support the Transnet Freight Decarbonisation and Corporate Sustainability Programme so as to enhance the operational sustainability of Transnet and to decarbonize freight sector in South Africa. The Company is focused to enhance its operational efficiency in order to facilitate a shift to a low-carbon operating model in line with JET-IP of South Africa and enhance the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.

According to Michelle Phillips, Group Chief Executive of Transnet, “Transnet remains committed to modernising its rail and port infrastructure and operations to improve service quality, reliability and competitiveness, while advancing sustainable growth as part of its Reinvent for Growth strategy. This funding will assist in achieving these objectives by enhancing energy efficiency and accelerate reforms.”

This loan follows a long-standing relationship that started in 2009 when AFD funded the extension of Cape Town Container Terminal from Transnet.

Says AFD’s Regional Director for Southern Africa, Marie-hélène Loison, “We are particularly pleased with this operation, as it reflects the shared priorities of both institutions. Transnet is a strategic actor in South Africa’s low-carbon transition, and it is a key enabler to the competitiveness of the economy. The investments in freight rail recovery, port modernisation and transition minerals export corridors are a demonstration that South Africa’s economic competitiveness and decarbonisation goals are inseparable.”

This partnership is also notable for its innovative structure. In contrast to conventional project finance in which loan proceeds are dedicated to specific investments, Transnet happens to have the flexibility to apply funds to a broader programme, enabling it to respond to the evolving requirements of its business.

This loan will only be released after Transnet reaches certain agreed milestones, which includes –

Upgrading of basic transport operations in order to enhance the quality and reliability of service. This will include the rehabilitation of around 550 km of rail on the Cape and container corridors, boosting reliability and facilitating a transfer of freight from road to lower-carbon rail transport.

Enhancement of the strategic business diversification by Transnet to explore green hydrogen as well as transition mineral logistics so as to replace the expected decline in coal volumes.

Readiness for purchasing a total of 30 MW of renewable energy, so as to support the pathway to net-zero emissions and

Strengthening of Transnet’s ESG

These achievements are designed to decarbonize freight sector in South Africa and minimise emissions intensity across Transnet’s operations, improve the environmental resilience of priority corridors, and provide governance improvements that improve long-term climate change resilience of Transnet.

This loan happens to be a part of a contribution by France to South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Partnership – JETP established by AFD since 2021 and meets the €1 billion commitment by France to the JETP which was announced at COP26.
The post Deal Signed to Decarbonize Freight Sector in South Africa appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

APECO Launches Construction, Rehabilitation of Transport Infrastructure Projects in Casiguran

The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Zone Authority (APECO) has embarked on a major upgrade and expansion of its road networks as part of its PHP415.73-million infrastructure initiative, aimed at transforming the Casiguran-based economic zone into an investment-ready hub for future investors. The effort, under the banner of Bagong APECO, reflects a commitment to modern, inclusive, and sustainable development.

Expanded Road Networks: Backbone of Logistics and Growth

APECO’s new road projects are designed to significantly boost the logistics efficiency of the ecozone, facilitating the transport of raw materials, containerised goods, and even oversized cargoes within Casiguran and the broader Aurora region. By upgrading existing roadways and expanding network coverage, the economic zone aims to remove bottlenecks that have traditionally hindered industrial, commercial, and tourism growth in the area. These improvements directly address challenges like limited connectivity and unreliable transport routes—issues that have impeded the region’s full economic potential.

“These projects will serve as the backbone of the Casiguran-based economic zone, positioning APECO as an investment-ready ecozone for future investors,” said APECO President and CEO Atty Gil G. Taway IV during the groundbreaking ceremony. He emphasized that Casiguran’s strategic location, facing the Pacific Ocean, makes it ideal for transshipment, enabling more efficient import and export operations and supporting both local locators and visiting investors seeking streamlined logistics operations.

Transformative Impact and Strategic Direction

APECO Transport Infrastructure of roads will expand support for APECO’s broader thrust of transformative governance, contributing not only to economic growth but also to transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in public investment. By thoroughly reviewing programs and reallocating resources, APECO was able to find budgetary savings to fund these critical transport upgrades, reinforcing its commitment to responsible stewardship of public funds.

The upgraded roads are set to facilitate seamless movement of goods and people, with a direct impact on supply chain efficiency, reduction in transportation costs, and enhanced access for businesses. The improvement in logistics is expected to attract high-value industries—manufacturing, processing, warehousing, and even tourism—by providing reliable, robust connectivity within the region and to other ports in Luzon and beyond.

Positioning Casiguran as a Transshipment Hub

APECO transport infrastructure aligns with its long-term vision to become the Philippines’ next major transshipment and logistics hub. As global supply chains become more complex, having access to efficient transport networks is crucial for competitiveness. The zone’s access to the Pacific shores, coupled with upgraded roads, creates a unique opportunity to link domestic and international shipping routes, catering to a rising demand for global export and import activities.

By focusing on physical road assets, APECO is addressing one of the core needs of both current locators and future investors—logistics readiness. The authority’s ongoing road rehabilitation and expansion are not just improvements in concrete and asphalt; they represent forward-looking investments in the ecozone’s competitive positioning. As these road projects reach completion, APECO anticipates stronger investor confidence, a higher volume of investment inflows, and broader socio-economic benefits for the people of Aurora.
The post APECO Transport Infrastructure to Drive Casiguran Logistics appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

FedEx Improves Communication In order to better serve regional enterprises and industries, Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the biggest express transportation providers in the world, is improving trade connections between Singapore and Johor. Due to this enhancement, businesses and importers will be able to get their items two hours earlier as incoming shipments from Asia, Europe, and the United States will arrive at the FedEx Gateway in Singapore before being sent straight to Johor.

Bypassing the prior path via Kuala Lumpur, straight import clearance at Senai customs has enabled this improvement. Before packages could arrive at the FedEx Senai Gateway for processing and delivery, the previous route needed a 300-kilometer diversion. Businesses in Johor benefit greatly from the new system, which removes this diversion and boosts productivity, especially for sectors like manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce that depend on timely imports.

Exporters from Singapore gain from the new arrangement as well because it makes package delivery to Southern Malaysia more efficient.

Eric Tan, managing director of FedEx Singapore, stated that “Optimising logistics is more than just speed – it’s about enabling businesses to grow and serve their customers better,” said Eric Tan, managing director of FedEx Singapore. “This improvement not only reinforces Singapore’s role as a key gateway for global trade, but also empowers businesses to thrive in an increasingly competitive and interconnected marketplace.”

JS-SEZ: Improving Economic Connectivity

With an emphasis on important industries including electronics, medical equipment, food production, and data centres, the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is expected to strengthen economic relations between the two regions even more.

Malaysia was Singapore’s third-largest trading partner in 2023, with USD 79.6 billion in bilateral trade. With USD 9.5 billion in approved foreign direct investment (FDI), Singapore was also Malaysia’s biggest source.

Improved logistical connection will be crucial to facilitating the smooth cross-border movement of goods as trade volumes between the two regions continue to rise. This strengthens Singapore’s standing as a hub for regional trade even further.

FedEx’s Dedication to Local Development

FedEx is steadfast in its commitment to assisting regional companies and fostering economic development in Singapore as it establishes itself as a major logistics hub in Southeast Asia. One of the numerous efforts FedEx is implementing to spur growth for its clients is the expedited delivery service.
The post FedEx Enhances Connectivity Between Singapore and Johor Amid JS SEZ Growth appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.

Ocean logistics play a critical role in facilitating the movement of goods across international borders, particularly when it comes to the importation of goods into the United States. This essential process supports the economy by ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of a wide array of products, ranging from consumer electronics to apparel. By enabling companies to meet consumer demand and sustain their operations, ocean logistics serve as the backbone of global trade.

However, the global shipping industry is facing significant challenges, with port congestion standing out as one of the most pressing issues. This problem disrupts supply chains, drives up costs, and complicates logistics planning. Understanding the root causes of port congestion and exploring effective strategies to mitigate its impact is critical for businesses looking to maintain operational efficiency.

Understanding Port Congestion in Ocean Logistics

Port congestion is a complex issue that affects the flow of global trade, particularly through major shipping hubs. It occurs when the volume of vessels arriving at a port exceeds its capacity, causing ships to wait for extended periods before they can dock and unload their cargo. These delays can disrupt supply chains, increase freight rates, and result in unexpected surcharges.

The consequences of port congestion ripple across the supply chain, affecting shipping lines, importers, and consumers alike. As a result, businesses must implement strategies that reduce the risks posed by port congestion, such as diversifying shipping routes and improving collaboration with logistics partners. By using innovative technologies and developing contingency plans, companies can better navigate the challenges posed by congested ports and ensure the smooth flow of goods.

Defining Port Congestion in Ocean Logistics

Port congestion, in the context of ocean logistics, refers to the situation where ships are unable to dock promptly due to overcrowded facilities, causing delays in the unloading and processing of cargo. This bottleneck in the supply chain is a growing concern, particularly in major U.S. ports that handle substantial volumes of global trade. As international trade expands, the frequency and intensity of port congestion events have escalated, making it a significant challenge for logistics services to overcome.

When ports are overwhelmed, the consequences can be severe: increased shipping costs, extended delivery times, and decreased operational efficiency. As a result, both businesses and consumers feel the effects, leading to supply chain disruptions that can be difficult to manage.

Root Causes of Port Congestion

Several factors contribute to the rise of port congestion in ocean logistics, with increased global trade volumes being one of the primary causes. As international commerce grows, the demand on ports intensifies, often exceeding their capacity to process incoming vessels. This strain is exacerbated by infrastructure limitations, where outdated equipment, limited storage space, or a lack of personnel can lead to significant operational delays.

In addition to these internal factors, external influences such as weather conditions and labor disputes can further disrupt port operations. Severe weather, including storms and hurricanes, can delay ships at sea or hinder their movement through ports. Meanwhile, labor strikes or staffing shortages can reduce port efficiency, leading to longer wait times for docking, unloading, and customs clearance.

Other factors, such as geopolitical tensions or changes in trade routes due to economic or political events, can also contribute to congestion. These disruptions often force shipping lines to alter their schedules or redirect vessels to alternate ports, compounding the issue and causing widespread delays.

Mitigating Port Congestion in Ocean Logistics

Successfully managing port congestion in ocean logistics requires a multifaceted approach that includes both operational improvements and technological advancements. By adopting strategies aimed at reducing delays and improving port efficiency, companies can better manage the flow of goods and avoid costly disruptions.

Strategies for Reducing Delays

One effective strategy for minimizing the impact of port congestion is improving scheduling and coordination at ports. By aligning vessel arrivals with port capacity, businesses can reduce wait times and prevent backlogs. Implementing priority lanes for time-sensitive cargo, such as perishable goods or medical supplies, can also enhance efficiency by ensuring that critical shipments are processed more quickly.

Another approach is to use off-peak operations to spread out the workload. Encouraging shippers to move goods during less congested periods—such as nighttime or weekends—can help alleviate pressure on the port and streamline cargo processing. Additionally, incentive programs that reward companies for prompt loading and unloading can help maintain a steady flow of goods through ports, further reducing the risk of delays.

Technological Solutions

Technology plays a pivotal role in mitigating port congestion and improving overall ocean logistics operations. The adoption of automated systems for cargo handling can significantly speed up the loading and unloading process, reducing turnaround times for vessels. Automated cranes, conveyor belts, and container scanning systems ensure that goods are moved quickly and efficiently through ports, cutting down on delays.

Data analytics and predictive modeling tools are also invaluable for forecasting congestion triggers. By analyzing historical and real-time data, ports can identify patterns that signal potential bottlenecks and adjust operations proactively. For example, predictive analytics can help ports prepare for surges in traffic due to seasonal trends or geopolitical events, enabling them to allocate resources more effectively.

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology and GPS tracking systems provides real-time visibility into the movement of goods. With live data on vessel locations, port capacity, and cargo status, logistics managers can make informed decisions about rerouting shipments or adjusting schedules to avoid congestion hotspots.

Policy and Regulatory Measures

Governments and regulatory bodies play a critical role in addressing port congestion by implementing policies that promote efficient port operations. Streamlining customs procedures, for instance, can reduce the time it takes to clear goods, thereby speeding up the flow of cargo through ports. Governments can also incentivize private sector investment in port infrastructure, encouraging the expansion of berthing spaces, upgrading equipment, and modernizing facilities to better handle growing volumes of trade.

Collaboration between industry stakeholders is equally important. Organizations such as the American ocean freight transport service can work with government agencies and port authorities to develop standards and agreements that ensure efficient operations across ports. By fostering a coordinated response to congestion challenges, stakeholders can create a more resilient and responsive supply chain.

Conclusion

Ocean logistics are a vital component of global trade, supporting the movement of goods from overseas markets into the U.S. and around the world. However, the increasing frequency of port congestion poses a significant challenge to the efficiency and reliability of ocean logistics services. By understanding the root causes of congestion and adopting strategies to mitigate its effects—such as improved scheduling, advanced technology, and policy measures—companies can maintain smooth supply chain operations despite disruptions.

The future of ocean logistics will depend on the ability to manage congestion effectively, ensuring that ports can handle growing trade volumes without compromising efficiency. Through innovation, collaboration, and strategic investments, businesses can overcome the challenges posed by port congestion and continue to meet the demands of global commerce.
The post Optimizing Ocean Logistics To Overcome Port Congestion appeared first on Supply Chain Informs.
